May 1999
Beacause of the effects from La Nina this year, the rainy season came early in Thailand. We basically had no Summer. This is a welcome relieve for most farmers who were under the threat of a major drought earlier. Panasiri was also a major recipient of this benefit. The trees are growing quickly and the mountain bike riders are experiencing amazing fun riding in the mud and sometime though 2 feet deep water (a 15 Km ride can take as much as 2 1/2 hours :)
The lake in front
of my log home which was built over 3 years ago finally filled up
with water to the maximum limit. On May 12, 1999, one single rain
lasting 4 hours added over 1.5 meters to the water level and it
is now running over the spillway.

April 1999
It has been a while since I have updated this section, and lots of new thinks have happened over the period :
- We have now
developed over 38 Kilometer of mountain bike trails
and named it Panasiri Mountain Bike Park
- In terms of
animals, we got many new babies. A baby miniature mule (crossed
between a miniture horse mother and a miniature donkey father)
named "Bunny" because it was born on Easter 1999.
A baby miniature donkey name "Runny" was born a week after that.
A baby miature horse named "Funny" was born on April 19th, 1999.

- Because of heavy
and early rainfall, the trees are growing like mad and flowers are blooming all over the woods
and the
butterflies are out in the millions.
- Also, two new
dogs moved to Lopburi.
Shadow
stayed here permanently, but Lucky
gets to ride back and forward between here
and Bangkok. Both had learned to swim and collect rubber balls.

In order to keep Tang-mo from biting our geese and swans at the house, we have to built a fence around the pond in front of our house.
We then released a baby black swan that was born here 2 months ago, 2 German Geese which were also born here and hand-raised, and 3 new black swans.
A large flock of wild ducks (around 50-60) have settled in the pond near Chubby's land. I cannot get any pictures of them yet since they are easily frightened.
